Beyond the Voice began as a musical social enterprise founded by the musician Uri Shahar in partnership with Keren Shalem, with the aim of encouraging natural acquaintance between people with and without disabilities through choral singing. The project operated between 2015-2021 during which 3 combined choirs were established in the cities of Kfar Saba Acre and Ashdod and over 120 female and male singers with and without disabilities took part in it. The project was accompanied by staff members from the fields of management, musical and social accompaniment, sound personnel, photography, recordings, editing and graphic design. The project was very successful, it stood out for its high-quality musical production and was recognized for its contribution to integration in music. In 2022 the project ended and beyond the sound became an association. The Acre and Ashdod choirs continued their musical activities within the PA. The Kfar Saba Choir became the representative choir and is managed by the Beyond the Voice association. In addition, the association trains instructors for integration in music and promotes research in the field of integration in leisure. The transition to voice method - the operating model and the practical tools developed as part of the project, are currently a basis for establishing new choirs and training instructors for integration into music. A vision beyond the voice is to develop "social leisure" for people with and without disabilities based on the natural connection between people based on their strengths and abilities.
